Data accepted into the repository
The Recherche Data Gouv repository covers data from French public research and its collaboration projects when no trusted disciplinary or thematic repository already exists for such data (https://recherche.data.gouv.fr/en/repositories).
This repository makes completed research data available to the scientific community and society in general that can be disseminated in accordance with the law and all regulations in force and that are well documented and reusable. All types of data are accepted as long as they are produced within a research activity.
Depositors are also asked to use open formats as much as possible to ensure interoperability, reproducibility and reusability, and to promote long-term preservation. Certain other formats that are widely used by a specific community or discipline may exceptionally be accepted. The repository implements a curation procedure prior to publication to guarantee each of these points and ensure the high documentary quality of the datasets.
When depositing a dataset, if at least one of the user’s sponsoring organisations is a partner of the Recherche Data Gouv repository (see full list of partners), the user will then be invited to deposit the data in one of the corresponding institutional spaces. This is explained in the flowchart available on the page 'Where to deposit and publish your data'.
