Recherche Data Gouv Seminar in June 2023: a chance for the ecosystem's support systems to meet

Updated at: 14/09/2023

A seminar for the members of the Recheche Data Gouv ecosystem's various support systems was held from June 6th to 8th at the Valpré conference centre and hotel in Ecully near Lyon. Around a hundred representatives of the ecosystem's data management clusters, thematic reference centres, institutional reference centres, resource centres and members of the network management team met for three days of exchanges, dialogue, information and collaborative work.

The Recheche Data Gouv ecosystem is currently in the process of construction. The personnel involved in the data management clusters work together in the framework of the national network of these clusters. Within the Recheche Data Gouv ecosystem, these staff members are also already collaborating with research centres that are already actively working on data management (thematic reference centres). Recherche Data Gouv also makes it possible to implement in-depth initiatives and projects to provide users with support or documentation and foster exchanges of best data curation and administration practices (resource centres and institutional reference centres).

This seminar gave participants the opportunity to discuss all these issues collaboratively while also looking at more technical or specific points like how to implement and manage data repositories or the complex subject of law research data (see the 'Focus' on this topic). The three days also enabled attendees to get to know each other better and more specifically gave those involved in the data management clusters currently being constructed a better overview and understanding of the entire ecosystem.

The next meetings of the support systems will take place in December 2023 in Reims (french link).
