BEE : French vs climate change

Updated at: 13/03/2024
Explore what French population think about climate change and ecology.

The survey "Ecology and Environment Barometer" examines attitudes towards climate change and more generally ecology. The questionnaire is divided into several sections covering different aspects of people's relationship with the climate and ecology. In particular, it includes a battery of questions designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of respondents' perception and understanding of climate change. Additionally, the survey explores individual practices in transport and consumption. Also, the survey examines support for various political measures and helps to understand their determinants.

It is the first wave of the survey with the objective of conducting it annually in order to develop a longitudinal tool for understanding the evolution of attitudes towards climate change and their underlying factors. The BEE survey took place between December 2023 and January 2024 with the ELIPSS panel of 2,641 individuals.

The Center for Socio-Political Data (CDSP, UAR CNRS - Sciences Po), set up in 2012 the ELIPSS panel (Longitudinal Internet Study for Social Sciences) an Internet survey system intended for the scientific community which allows the study of changes in behaviour, situations and opinions in French society. It is an internet panel representative of the population residing in metropolitan France.
