Who is the Recherche Data Gouv repository for?

The Recherche Data Gouv repository is a sovereign publication solution for sharing and opening up data to communities that do not yet have a recognized domain repository. Data deposit and publication is done as a priority in the institutional space on which the author(s) depend.

An interactive flowchart aims to guide them in this choice.

Some definitions:

  • Generic space: a generic space is offered by default to scientists whose institutions do not yet have an institutional space in the Recherche Data Gouv repository.
  • Institutional spaces: Each higher education or research institution can request the creation of an institutional space in order to deposit and publish its research data. It ensures its administration and curation.
  • Unit collections: Unit collections provide a view of the data production of a research unit. They also allow the management of data publication to be delegated as close as possible to researchers because the unit collection can be administered and curated by the unit concerned. Unit collections should preferably be created in the institutional space of a supervisory authority. In the case of mixed research units, once the collection has been created in an institutional space, it is strongly recommended to contact the administrators of the institutional spaces of the other supervisory authorities to link the UMR collection to the spaces concerned. In the specific case where no supervisory authority has an institutional space in Recherche Data Gouv, it is possible to request the creation of a collection in the generic space.
