Network of data management clusters
The network of data management clusters is formed by all the data clusters, whether labelled, in the process of being awarded the label, or in development.
This network is run by a board set up in october 2022 with the following tasks:
- To coordinate the network of research data management clusters;
- To interact with the other stakeholders and the governance of Recherche Data Gouv.
The current board members are :
- Stéphanie Castex (Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne)
- Stéphanie Cheviron (Université de Strasbourg)
- Alexis Arnaud (Université Grenoble Alpes)
Several working groups have been set up to bring the network to life and ensure collective progress :
- WG1 Common application tools for networking
- WG2 Professional training for clusters staff
- WG3Toolbox and practical information sheets for researchers
- WG4 Setting up a network of data correspondents in the research units
- WG5 Guidance and support for code
- WG6 Interactions between data management clusters and thematic reference centres
Each group is committed to working closely with the other support services of the Recherche Data Gouv ecosystem, in particular the resource centres and thematic reference centres, as well as with all the stakeholders already involved in these issues, such as Couperin GTSO (open science working group) for Data and the French Committee for Open Science.
The non-specialist nature of the clusters' missions means that they often deal with the same questions. The aim of the WGs is to address these issues by:
1. Capitalising on the resources developed by the clusters;
2. Pooling their skills and needs.
Furthermore, the aim is to eventually open up these discussions to all the actors involved in the field of data in France.
