A practical guide to defining a quality approach to research data

The collège Données de la recherche has published a practical guide entitled "Defining a Quality Approach to Research Data." This document aims to support researchers, as well as data managers and curators, in implementing a structured quality approach throughout the data lifecycle.
A Methodological Framework for Data Quality
The result of work by the college and its working group on data quality, this guide offers an operational methodological framework to strengthen the reliability, traceability, and reusability of scientific data. It is based on the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and international recommendations, particularly those of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Task Force FAIR Metrics and Data Quality.
Aimed at all research stakeholders, from project leaders to data managers, this guide serves as:
- A tool for drafting data management plans
- A tool for self-assessment of practices
- A basis for certification processes (e.g., CoreTrustSeal)
It is part of a continuous improvement approach, inspired by the Deming cycle (PDCA), and encourages the convergence of quality practices across disciplines.
