From talent diversity to collective impact: immersion in Recherche Data Gouv

On 27 March 2025, the Research-ESR WG organised a webinar dedicated to the Recherche Data Gouv. ecosystem.

Isabelle Blanc is the administrator of data, algorithms and source codes for the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research as well as Director of Recherche Data Gouv. Gilles Mathieu is a Research Data Officer at the Ministry, as well as Deputy Director "Operations and Coordination" Recherche Data Gouv. Richard Moreno is the Recherche Data Gouv Platform Manager.

After a focus on research data and the issues that led to the creation of Recherche Data Gouv, the whole organisation and governance of the ecosystem is revealed, before a more technical look at the national data platform and its development path.

Underlying this presentation are the many professional skills involved in the ecosystem: the researchers themselves, the IT teams, the documentation and library staff, etc., all working together to ensure that the data, its visibility and its re-use complement each other.
