Recherche Data Gouv is talked about in a book dedicated to data papers

Updated at: 08/04/2025

Putting your data in a repository is good, publishing it via a data paper is even better!

This practice is in need of further development, as can be seen in the book edited (in french) by Christine Kosmopoulos and Joachim Schöpfel, Publier, partager, réutiliser les données de la recherche : les data papers et leurs enjeux.

Cover bookThrough the various contributions of researchers, research engineers, data librarians and doctoral students, the study first provides an overview of the data article as an emerging model of scientific publication in an editorial landscape itself under construction. This very detailed overview makes it possible, for example, to learn more about the motivations of the authors of data papers, or about their impact on the actual re-use of the data described.

After a presentation of feedback, particularly targeted in the field of humanities and social sciences, the questions of quality, evaluation, skills are then addressed, in a third part where FAIR principles, data management plans, data description and documentation tools appear as the faithful allies of the data paper.

Finally, the last chapter is dedicated to the technical tools and infrastructures on which data sharing is based. The Recherche Data Gouv ecosystem, whether through the tools it brings together or through its support offer, occupies a prominent place.
