Survey of Scientits’ data paper publication pratices
Data paper :
Publication describing a scientific dataset, in particular using structured information called metadata. The data paper presents the context in which the data was produced but, unlike a traditional research article, it does not mention the hypotheses tested or the analyses carried out.
This dataset analyzes the results of a survey carried out between September and November 2023, on scientists’ data paper publication practices. The survey was carried out among 226 scientists in French higher education and research who produce research data and wish to make use of it, including those who have never (or not yet) published data papers.
It consists of 3 parts: the respondents professional context, their data paper publication practice (review, difficulties encountered, associated publications) and their feedback on the use of the tool for generating a draft data paper from a dataset deposited in Recherche Data Gouv repository.
