Free deposit up to 50 GB for individual researchers. Fees may apply for larger data uploads.

Repository provided moderation

Human moderation: verification of file readability and formats, as well as metadata. DANS reserves the right to request modifications or to reject a dataset if it does not comply with the terms of use.

Viability

DANS is responsible for the reliable preservation of these repositories with a view to their long-term reuse. The retention period is ''unlimited,'' unless prohibited by legal obligations.

Notes

Primarily intended for the Netherlands, but not exclusively: data from foreign institutions is accepted when there is a clear link to Dutch archaeological research. Platform launch in 2022. Data is stored on servers located in the Netherlands. Embargo : possible; must be specified for each file. DANS encourages embargo periods of 6 months or less.
