Repository provided moderation

GBIF provides moderation at 2 levels:
1) at the level of the entity publishing the data (publisher), for example the research laboratory. The GBIF ensures that the entity provides data within the GBIF perimeter. This check is carried out only once, when the depositing entity is created.
2) at the time of the data deposit itself. Moderation differs according to the deposit tool used.
When using the IPT (Integrated Publishing Toolkit, an optional but recommended tool), a technical validation of the data content according to the Darwin core standard is automatically carried out: verification of identifiers, absence of duplicates and completeness of mandatory and basic metadata. The GBIF.org site then reconciles the data geographically and taxonomically, and adds a "flag" for each occurrence.
