PIS crop sequences between 2007 and 2020

Explore your territory agricultural dynamics with the RPG Explorer crop sequences.

The RPG Explorer crop sequences are built from the Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS) data over the 2007-2020 period. The data were processed with the RPG Explorer tool developed by UMR SADAPT (version 1.10.97).

For each French department, the crop sequences are provided for the three periods (2007-2014), (2015-2020) and (2007-2020). These data are established at the level of the elementary spatial entity resulting from the intersection of the parcel (2015-2020) and the islets (2007-2014) declared each year by the farmers within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

This entity is associated with a unique identifier corresponding to the concatenation of the numbers taken by the islets/parcels over each of the years of the period considered.

The data is provided grouped for each department in a geopackage file (.gpkg), this type of file is used with the QGIS software.

The crops are described according to 28 crop groups for the period 2007-2014 and for more than 300 crops for the period 2015-2020. Information on all the codes used to describe the crops is given in the file "ListCultures". The official LPIS reference is provided in the file "CultureRPG".

The quality of a sequence is specified by the variable "qualif_seq" which indicates the rule that allowed the construction of the sequence, a sequence qualified as 1 corresponds to the best case scenario (see Levavasseur et al. 2016) and a sequence as 8 corresponds to an undetermined sequence, i.e. the worst case scenario. Moreover, when an area is not declared in a given year, its parcel/islet number is marked "abs" (missing). As a result, the sequences can, at best, only concern the declared areas.
