Based on the “facility_name” metadata from the ObsCore scheme.

Astronomical observatory or facility where the data was obtained. (Optional)

Click on the (+) button to add a facility.

Example: Very Large Telescope (VLT)

 

Instrument

Based on the “instrument_name” metadata from the ObsCore scheme.

Instrument used to collect the data. (Optional)

Click on the (+) button to add an instrument.

Example: ESPRESSO

 

Object

Based on the “target_name” metadata from the ObsCore scheme.

Astronomical object represented in the data, given as SIMBAD recognizable names preferred: https://simbad.u-strasbg.fr/simbad/.
For solar system astronomical objects, please use the IMCCE web portal. (Optional)

Click on the (+) button to add an object.

Example: HD 138614

 

Spatial Resolution

Based on the “s_resolution” metadata from the ObsCore scheme.

The spatial (angular) resolution that is typical of the observations, in decimal degrees. (Optional)

Example: 1.8611e-4

 

Spectral Resolution

Based on the “em_res_power” metadata from the ObsCore scheme.

The spectral resolution that is typical of the observations, given as the ratio λ/Δλ.  (Optional)

Example: 138000 

 

Time Resolution

Based on the “t_resolution” metadata from the ObsCore scheme.

The temporal resolution that is typical of the observations, given in seconds.
Minimum interpretable interval between two points (sampling) on the time axis in seconds. Given as a mean value or characteristic value. For data without time sampling, the exposure time or 0 can be entered. (Optional)

Example: 180

 

Bandpass

Conventional bandpass name. (Optional)

Click on the (+) button to add a bandpass name.

Example: Ks

 

Central Wavelength (m)

The central wavelength of the spectral bandpass, in meters (m). (Optional)

Click on the (+) button to add a central wavelength.

Example: 2.2e-6

 

Wavelength Range

Based on “em_min”  and “em_max”  metadata from the ObsCore scheme.

The minimum and maximum wavelength of the spectral bandpass.

  • Minimum (m): minimum wavelength of the spectral bandpass (m). (Optional)
  • Maximum (m): maximum wavelength of the spectral bandpass (m). (Optional)

Click on the (+) button to add a wavelength range.

Note: The additional field is requested if a value is entered in one of these optional fields.

  • Minimum: 1.96e-6
  • Maximum: 2.36e-6

 

Dataset Date Range

Based on “t_min” and “t_max”  metadata from the ObsCore scheme.

Time period covered by the data.

  • Start: Start of the time period covered by the data. (Optional)
  • End: End of the time period covered by the data. (Optional)

Click on the (+) button to add a dataset date range.

Note 1: Please enter dates in the format YYYY-MM-DD.

Note 2: The additional field is requested if a value is entered in one of these optional fields.

  • Start: 2024-10-30
  • End: 2024-11-06

 

Sky Coverage

Based on the “s_fov”  metadata from the ObsCore scheme.

The sky coverage of the data object: area diameter given in degrees. (Optional)

Click on the (+) button to add a sky coverage.

Example: 0.15

 

Depth Coverage

The depth coverage, or sensitivity, of the data object (Jy). (Optional)

Example: 2e-8

 

Object Density

The (typical) density of objects, catalog entries, telescope pointing, etc., on the sky, in number per square degree. (Optional)

Example: 100

 

Object Count

The total number of objects, catalog entries, etc., in the data object.

Example: 157367

 

Fraction of Sky

The fraction of the sky represented in the observations, ranging from 0 to 1. (Optional)

Example: 0.13

 

Polarization

Based on the “pol_state” metadata from the ObsCore scheme.

The polarization coverage given in Stokes parameters (IQUV). (Optional)

Example: IQU

 

Redshift Type

« Redshift » or « Optical » or « Radio » definitions of Doppler velocity used in the data object. (Optional)

Example: Optical

 

Redshift Resolution

The resolution in redshift (unitless) or Doppler velocity (km/s) in the data object. (Optional)

Example: 0.1

 

Redshift value

The value of the redshift (unitless) or Doppler velocity (km/s) in the data object.

  • Minimum: minimum value of the redshift (unitless) or minimum value of Doppler velocity (km/s).
  • Maximum: maximum value of the redshift (unitless) or maximum value of Doppler velocity (km/s). (Optional)

Click on the (+) button to add a redshift value.

  • Minimum: 0.5
  • Maximum: 1.5
