Curation report template
Presenting the model
Datasets deposited on the Recherche Data Gouv Repository are all eventually curated. The aim is to, at least, ensure that any user may understand the production context, the origin, and the caracteristics of the data, in order to facilitates its understanding and reuse.
To implement a curating process allowing to reach the objectives Recherche Data Gouv targets, the Repository-registry resource centre provides a curation report template, likewise the one used on the Generic space.
This document includes the whole metadata blocks. For each metadata field, one may tick a OK box and/or a /!\ box and leave a commentary. It is up to the administrators/curators to adapt this template and to retain a list of metadata fields as they see fit for the different collections they are in charge of curating.
For instance, the Repository-registry resource centre keeps only a limited list of citation metadata. For each deposit in the Generic space (Espace Générique), a new report is created, renamed according to the DOI reserved by this new deposit, and for every new submission to review the dataset, the report is modified then transmited to the depositor in a read only format.
The curation report allows to structure the exchanges between a curator and a depositor, and to keep dated tracks of the efforts engaged by both parties.
